Access Statement
Introduction
Lovett Farm has been in the family for four generations. Our Farmhouse has delightful views overlooking the Dauntsey Vale and is situated on the edge of the Cotswolds, just three miles from the ancient town of Malmesbury and a 7 mile drive from the M4 motorway, Junctions 16 and 17. Whilst we make every effort to accommodate all the needs of our guests, we regret that our first floor accommodation is unsuitable for wheelchair users who are unable to climb the stairs. The main staircase is also the fire escape route.

We are located on the side of the B4042 just outside the village of Little Somerford.
The nearest bus stop is just a few metres from the farm entrance and buses run to Malmesbury, Chippenham and Swindon every hour. There are no buses available on Sundays. The nearest railway station is Chippenham, just 9 miles away.
There are a number of local taxi companies and we will be happy to book a taxi in advance for you on request.
The nearest general store and Post Office is 2 miles away at Great Somerford.
There are several village pubs and restaurants serving excellent food within a short drive. The Saladin in Little Somerford serves excellent food and is only a few minutes walk away.
Our brochure and menu are available in large print but unfortunately we do not have the facilities to provide copies in Braille.
As we have a family dog we regret that we are unable to accept pets.
On Arrival
Please advise us of your anticipated arrival time to ensure that we are here to personally welcome you.
To ensure your accommodation is ready we ask that guests do not normally arrive before 12.00 noon. Earlier arrival may, however, be possible by arrangement.
A sign at the side of the road will confirm that you have arrived at Lovett Farm where you will find ample level parking at the end of the driveway.
Access to the house from the parking area is by the path at the side of the house. This leads to the front entrance where there are two steps up to the front door, the first step is 5cm high and the second step is 16cm high. Please ring the bell on arrival.
We will be happy to assist with your luggage.
Guest accommodation
The Farmhouse is centrally heated throughout with thermostatically controlled radiators.
Public area
The front entrance leads into a level hallway where you will find a Visitors' Book and where we would ask you to register your stay.
Breakfast is served at a large table in the dining/sitting room, on the ground floor. You will find a breakfast menu on the dresser, and in the bookcase information on many of the local attractions and nearby places of interest to help you make the most of your stay. There are two fireside chairs for you to relax and the dining room is fully carpeted. There is also a variety of books and a selection of board games and cards.
Bedrooms
There are thirteen steps in the main staircase to the first floor with a handrail to the right.
The accommodation comprises one double and one twin room.
The double room has a fully tiled en-suite shower room with a large quadrant shower cubicle, wc, hand basin, shaver point and an electric ladder radiator.
The twin room has two single beds, a partially tiled en-suite shower room with shower cubicle, wc, hand basin and shaver point.
Both rooms have remote control 22” flat screen televisions with teletext and freeview channels, radio alarm, hairdryer and torch. Our hospitality tray consists of tea, coffee, hot chocolate, fruit and herbal teas, biscuits and fresh milk. We provide bottled water, wine glasses and corkscrew. Electric fan heaters are available for extra heating should the need occur. Also electric fans are available for those guests that require the rooms to be cooler and there are also additional blankets and pillows.
For your comfort the radiators in each room can be adjusted individually and both rooms are fully carpeted.
Our beds are normally made with duvets but please advise when booking if sheets and blankets would be preferred. The duvets and pillows are synthetic.
There is a guest information folder in each room offering information about your accommodation, the local area and local facilities.
Garden
There is a large enclosed lawned garden with flower bed and fruit trees where guests are welcome to relax at any time. The garden is to the left of the main driveway, opposite the rear entrance to the house and has level access. There is a garden table and chairs with sun umbrella for guest’s comfort.
Additional Information
Smoking is not permitted anywhere in the house.
All rooms and public areas are fitted with smoke detectors.
There is a fire extinguisher on the first floor landing and evacuation is via the main staircase and through the back or front door to the parking area.
We are happy to cater for special diets or any particular likes or dislikes. Please advise us of these at the time of booking so that we can be sure to accommodate your request.
We are happy to refrigerate any medicines. We can also freeze ice-packs and keep any perishable items in our fridge.
Mobile phone reception is normally good.
We have complimentary Wi-Fi Broadband connection to the Internet upon request.
